SOUTHERN COUNTRY--APRIL 2004
"This was our special Valentine's dance night and it turned out to be extra special as we had a guest artiste from Nashville, Tennessee, namely BOBBY D. SAWYER a new name on the circuit but one that is going to be remembered as he has the lot, voice, looks, personality and is a real gentleman. He had the ladies hearts a fluttering as he kicked off with a tremendous version of 'Don't Rock the Jukebox.' The applause was deafening and so it carried on as he sang such classics as 'Down at the Twist and shout', 'Chattahoochee', and a couple of slow songs for our romantics, and a powerful version of Elvis' 'Hurt', specially for Lou our bar lady. Although he has sung in Nashville, this was his first gig in a CWDC and I'm sure it won't be his last. Thanks Bobby, you have a whole lot of new fans here at Hang Loose."

SOUTHERN COUNTRY--MAY 2004
"Another new face for us again this evening and what a guy--this fella from Nashville certainly can sing and play country--what a great evening--hope we see you back again"

"Bobby D. Sawyer--a young Nashville performer who divides his time between England and Nashville and is touring the country clubs here in the UK. He gained experience whilst in the US Air Force where his vocal talent was recognised and much time was spent with their entertainment unit touring the bases in England and Europe. Going by his demo CD he has a great country voice and sings the songs our country fans like. He is a charming young man to talk to as well

SOUTHERN COUNTRY--JUNE 2004
"This was a date which will stick in my memory for a very long time. We were entertained by BOBBY D. SAWYER who hails from Nashville, Tennessee and boy was he good! His backing tracks are perfect and Bobby has a truly remarkable voice. I have not been this impressed since I saw Chris Cagle at the Wild Horse Saloon. Bobby sings both traditional and New country with a really good mix of fast and slow songs and different tempos. We had songs from Hank Williams, Elvis, Roger Miller and Kris Kristofferson right through to today's stars like Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, David Ball and Pat Green to name just a few. Every single song sounded either as good as the original or better. I have been doing Western Dance for several years now but I would have been more than happy to just sit and listen all night long. Our pick of the night was Roger Miller's Husband and Wives. We have got Bobby booked to return to the club next January 2005 and I for one just cannot wait. If any club organisers our there have a spare date an you want to hear some real country and western music, book this gentleman and you will not be disappointed."

SOUTHERN COUNTRY--SEPTEMBER 2004
July 3rd - BOBBY D. SAWYER. The artiste advertised to appear was still in Spain so Charlie had to find a replacement and what a fantastic one it was too. BOBBY D. SAWYER is based in Farnham, Surrey but originates from Nashville. This guy has got a really great voice, a nice personality and is good to talk to. He gave us three great sets of country music, a really nice selection of songs from which I really like Garth Brooks "Two Pina Coladas", Alan Jackson's "Chattahoochee", the lovely Dolly Parton song "Salt in My Tears" and absolute winner Roger Miller's "Husbands and Wives". After the lovely raffle, picks from the final set were a lovely George Jones song "Picture of Me Without You" and Garth Brook's lovely song "The Dance" plus we always like "Land of Enchantment" and Bobby sung such a lovely version. Lots and lots of shouts for more and the evening finished with Bobby walking around the hall with hand held microphone singing and shaking hands with literally everybody, the song being "Wave on Wave". He certainly gained lots of admirers tonight and did a really good trade with this CD which is really great and he made sure he signed everyone for the customers. Many, many thanks to Bobby for a really great evening. Hope to see him soon and come back to the club quickly. Also many thanks to Brian and Sylvia for the sound system. It was nice to see Sylvia again at a country music club and have a nice chat about the scene. Sheila and I have known her for quite a few years.

SOUTHERN COUNTRY--DECEMBER 2004
"October 15th. This evening Gerry had come up with a real gem in BOBBY D. SAWYER from Nashville, Tennessee. I have waited a long time to see him having read so many great reports in SCM. Well I was not disappointed at all, first class entertainment. With Sylvia twiddling the knobs and Bobby's great voice, Country Music does not get any better than this. From his first number to his last number Bobby had the dancers up on the floor all night and the listeners were more than catered for as well. Bobby did such rarities as Dolly's "Salt in my Tears" and Garth's "Two Pina Coladas" - aahh, the memories of dancing to both those tracks came flooding back, it was a shame that none of us could remember the steps. One of my favourites "I like it I love it" from Tim McGraw was a highlight. Tim has the live version on his Greatest Hits CD and Bobby sounded so similar (particularly at the end of the song) you would have though it was Tim singing. Other good covers were "Move it on Over" - Hank Williams, "Down at the Twist and Shout" - Mary Chapin Carpenter, "Wave on Wave" - Pat Green. There was one particular slow number that Bobby sang really well, I think it was called "Remember When" - the audience were spellbound. A change of shirt for each of the three sets, no idle chit chat in between numbers, great stuff. During his encore Bobby walked by each table, shaking hands, kissing the ladies! I am sure a few of the fairer sex swapped tables during this and therefore got second helpings. The applause at the end was the loudest I have heard at the venue for some time, so well done to BOBBY D. SAWYER for brilliantly entertaining us all.

"October 16th . A great crowd was present when we were entertained by BOBBY D. SAWYER from Nashville. Everybody took Bobby into their hearts, he has a great personality and is a very gifted performer. Good humour and a good selection of country music old and new from well known and some less known artistes, giving us another super night. It was great to see and meet Bobby and hope he will visit us in the not too distant future when we get settled into the new venue. Out of all the great variable numbers he rendered, one in particular pulled at my heartstrings--"Seeing my Father In Me" - the words were so true to life and so very sincerely sung which made it extra special. Thank you Bobby for such a fantastic night."
